If you read my blog last week, you’ll remember I had a bit of a rant about how tired I am of seeing styled shoots dominating so many wedding blogs. And it seems from the feedback I’ve received that I’m not the only one!
So here I bring you some of the weddings blogs that I am reading, that are focusing on real people and real emotions. Whilst some of these blogs might seem a bit more “alternative” they are choosing to focus on what really matters, irregardless of the gender, dress size or style of wedding. They celebrate the uniqueness of every love story and try to bring focus away from details and more on to the couple’s story.
In no particular order:
Catalyst are all about showing the whole spectrum of weddings and love stories, with lots of features with inter-racial, plus size and same sex couples. They celebrate love in whatever shape, size, sexuality or colour it comes in.
As the title suggests, F* Yeah Gay Weddings is an LGBTQ wedding blog. But whatever your preference, this blog has nailed it in terms of featuring weddings with a wide variety of styles and budgets.
This destination wedding planning platform encourages it’s real couples as well as professionals to submit their wedding stories, meaning that’s exactly what you get. Real, honest destination weddings, ranging from very modest weddings to lavish exotic locations, showing all couples dreaming of a destination wedding that anything is possible.
You must have been hiding under a rock if you’ve not come across Rock N Roll Bride before. If the wedding is quirky and unique, you’ll probably find it on here.
Ok, so this is actually a blog that I set up to reach couples like me and my husband (and a lot of the couples I work with) who are more outdoorsy hiking-boot than glitter stiletto wearing types, who are excited about the idea of their wedding being a reflection of their personalities – wild and adventurous!
Are there any other wedding blogs that I’ve missed out that you love that feature more real weddings than styled shoots? Post the links in the comments below.
