On Thursday 17th September some areas in Tirol experienced the strongest storms on record, with winds up to 160 kph.
The mountains had always been a special place for Kathi and when she moved to Tirol from Germany to pursue a nuring career, it also led her to the love of her life Daniel. They had planned a beautiful intimate wedding with just their closest family members outside the breathtaking Kristallhütte, located at 2147 metres, above Kaltenbach in Zillertal. Unfortunately the gail force winds and heavy rain meant that the ceremony had to be moved from the outside terrace in to the cosy mountain restaurant.
The fantastic team at the Kristallhütte set up a beautiful wedding ceremony location in front of the fireplace, which was decorated in a gorgeous rustic, vintage style by Sarah Windisch of Festdeko.
Tears rolled down Daniel’s cheeks as he read his handwritten vows and promised to devote his life to Kathi. As they held hands tightly, Kathi vowed to Daniel to always hold his hand, and to be by his side no matter how stony the path ahead may become. Breaking from tradition, Daniel chose to take on Kathi’s last name, and was able to practice his new signature on their marriage certificate. Their vows were sealed with a very emotional first kiss.
Despite all of the stress and set-backs, Kathi and Daniel were just beaming with joy all afternoon. It may not have been exactly the wedding they planned, but it will certainly be a day they will never forget.
