Adventure Bride Guide – Adventure Elopement Photography

Whilst planning an elopement can be much less stressful than planning a wedding, there isn’t as much information out there to help couples during the process. Elopements might well be much more simple affairs, but they still require some thoughtful planning. And one of the most frequent questions I get asked from couples who are eloping is how many hours of photography coverage do they need. So today we’re going to look at adventure elopement photography and how many hours you should book your photographer for.

Elopements might not run to a traditional wedding timetable, but each and every elopement has a unique story to tell.

That story starts long before any vows are exchanged. It starts as soon as you start getting ready, whether that’s putting on makeup, getting dressed, or packing your wedding outfits in to a rucksack before a long hike to a beautiful location. It’s all part of the story of your adventure.

And then there’s this beautiful location that you’ve chosen to be a part of your story. You’ve chosen it because of its wild, natural beauty. It’s been your dream to say your vows in this beautiful place, so don’t forget to make the most of it. Plan your day with as much time to travel around to different locations so that you can capture as much of it as possible.

It might seem quite daunting to spend the whole day with your photographer. Most people (myself included) hate posing for pictures, and the thought of a day-long photo shoot is too overwhelming. But when you have a photographer with you for the whole day, it actually means that there is much less pressure on you. You don’t need to rush around from one location to the next, or feel like you have to fit everything in within a strict timeframe. You have the flexibility to take breaks, or change your plans because you’ve spotted a location in the distance that you simply need to go and check out. And when you pick an elopement photographer who you connect with on a personal level, I promise you that it doesn’t feel awkward at all. It’s like going on an adventure with an old friend. You’ll spend the day exploring, smiling, laughing and having a wonderful time.
