Destination Weddings in Iceland

Iceland. The land of ice and fire, and of places with names that nobody can pronounce!

This small volcanic island in the North Atlantic Ocean is the destination of choice for many adventure loving couples who want to  say their wedding vows amongst some of the wildest and and most unique scenery on this planet. Around every bend in the road is a stunning vista waiting to be captured, making it a dream destination for photographers too.

If you love adventure and the great outdoors, and you’re not afraid of facing the elements or getting your dress a little dirty in order to get insanely epic photographs, then you have to consider Iceland.

And the good news is that Iceland does not require residency in order to get legally married there, but you need need to submit the required documentation in advance. The most straightforward way to do this is to hire the services of a wedding planner, who can liaise with the authorities to ensure that everything is in place to let you get married. And of course they can also help you with the planning and coordination of the day, something which is certainly more challenging to do by yourself when you live in another country.

Iceland Wedding Locations

As an adventure wedding specialist, I’m used to photographing in challenging environments like Iceland, so you’ll know that you’ve got someone who knows how to work in the cold and damp conditions. There’ll be less standing and staring at the camera and more exploring. But as someone who loves nature and wants to help protect these fragile landscapes, I also make sure that we follow the Leave No Trace principles, as too many people are not taking enough care to preserve these beautiful Icelandic landscapes.
