On Tuesday 3rd January the first snowflakes of the new year started to fall. This created the perfect setting for Pamela and Steven’s magical Mayrhofen wedding.
Pamela and Steven travelled all the way from Scotland and with their two sons and closest family members as their witnesses. They chose to say yes to each other at the top of the Ahorn mountain in Mayrhofen, Zillertal in the Austrian Tyrol. A place where they had created many happy memories during years of ski trips.
A Mayrhofen Wedding
Their mountain wedding ceremony was conducted by Burgi, the lovely officiant from the Mayrhofen registry office (or Standesamt as it’s known locally). And the location couldn’t have been more perfect. The Freiraum is right at the top of the Ahorn cable car station. It allowed guests to experience panoramic views of the Zillertal mountains whilst being able to keep warm and enjoy the ceremony.
After their ceremony, Pamela and Steven braved the cold mountain air for some pictures amongst the magnificent scenery. Then it was time for the wedding breakfast. And what was on the menu? The Austrian classic, Wiener schnitzel of course!
And the person that made this fairytale winter wedding possible? The wonderful Kajsa, a specialist in alpine weddings in Austria.
