New Beginnings

The Last 2 Years

If you follow me on social media, you may have seen that I made an announcement a while ago on Facebook. I’d handed in my notice from my “day job”. This week marks my last week as an employee, and as I leap into next week head first as a self-employed boss lady, I wanted to stop and look at my journey up until this point.

I registered myself as a business in October 2015 and for the past 2 years, I’ve been working hard on building a business up from nothing.

I’m so incredibly proud of how far I have come, and I thank all the people who have helped me get to this point. The amazing couples who have trusted me with the incredible responsibility of documenting their wedding day. The wonderful women who have been there behind the scenes who have helped me guide my business in the right direction. My friends and family who have been kind and forgiving when I couldn’t spend time with them because I was too busy.

Moving Forward

As I start this next step of my journey, I’ll be taking a bit of a step back from everything to get focused and realigned with my goals and to explore new ways in which to expand what I can offer the world. I’ll be using this time to create a work schedule for myself that finally enables me to spend time with the people who are most important to me. This is going to start with setting boundaries for working hours and learning to switch off at the end of the day.

What’s Comming Next?

Whilst Wild Connections Photography is my first child and will always be my main focus, I’ve had a few projects going on in the background that I’ve like to explore further.

This includes a European wedding and travel blog called We Are The Wanderers
Pet photography Candid Creatures
And a commercial portfolio Ekkelboom-White Photography.

But most excitingly, it’s going to be working on personal projects, such as extreme sports and travel photography. Learning new skills such as ski touring and just enjoying life.
