Walking in to the chalet, there was a sense of anticipation in the crisp mountain air. Everything Elissa needed was laid-out and ready to go. Her dress hang proudly by the window as she told everyone about how her great grandmother had first worn it in the 1920s and how she loved to dress up in it as a child. Ninety years, and a few repairs later, Elissa was ready to put on the dress one more time. This time she would be wearing it to get married.
Ralf and his entourage headed to the pub for a last beer before making their way to the Standesamt to wait for Elissa. With Ralf being from South Africa and Elissa from the USA, their guests had flown for thousands of miles to celebrate the day with them. One guest even made the journey from Australia.
Following their short civil ceremony, which was only delayed slightly when Elissa needed to practice her new signature before signing the official paperwork, they headed to the Hotel Alte Post for drinks before sneaking away for some photos on the way to their reception venue.
Elissa and Ralf chose the elegant Museum Restaurant for their stylish reception, where the guests were served with a menu of delicious local dishes and between courses could wander freely around the ski museum upstairs, before dancing the night away to the brilliant sounds of Jave Jam.
